In The Doctor, Clara Vinci asks her mentor/lover to make her a family tree of sorts. She’s training to be a mafia doctor – it wouldn’t do for her to be mixing up the Medinas and the Pasternelos, or any of the other dozens of families who’ve been in the D’Angelo Syndicate since long before she was born. This tree, she argues, will help her learn their names and keep them straight.
But Clara has ulterior motives. Something doesn’t sit right with her, and her mind races as she tries to figure it out. The key to keeping the Syndicate from ruin lies in her hands.
