Save Her From Herself
She was the last person I expected to want. Kelly O’Connor. Frail, vulnerable, scared. When I found her bound on a boat, destination unknown, she was only a job.
A means to an end for my security company.
But when we saved her, it wasn’t enough. Her broken parts cut everyone around her, including herself. She was dangerous, her pain seeping into me like a toxin. I promised I’d protect her to atone for my mistakes, but I failed her. Just like everyone else.
I shouldn’t have been surprised when she disappeared again. I should have said no when they asked me to bring her home. But I was a fool in love, a fool dying for another breath with her in it. So, I agreed to find her a second time. Only this time, the threat was different. With my own heart on the line, I knew the truth. I would do anything to save Kelly O’Connor. Even if I had to save her from herself.
